At Webstate I research and collect data about phantom traffic jams. This real-time data is generated by the sensors of smart phones located inside cars. This data combined with other data sources generates a data model with data mining techniques. This model inform drivers about the traffic and conditions ahead (weather, speed, length of traffic jam, etc.) and provide with this taken into account real-time recommendations to the driver. According to TNO are 1/3 of the traffic jams phantom in the Netherlands. This system could save 50% of those traffics with a cost of 500 million euro per year.
